Ada Main Street Director Gina Stowers said Ada would be holding its 23rd annual parade of lights on Dec. 2.

“This is the 23rd year of the parade,” she said.  “Ada was actually the first Main Street town to create a night-time Christmas parade.”

Stowers said the parade was named the Pat Taylor Memorial Parade of Lights after Taylor passed away in 2002.

“Pat Taylor owned the Curiosity Shop on Main Street, which her family still owns and operates,” Stowers said.  “(Taylor) was very well known and respected by the community as the owner of the Curiosity Shop.”

She said Taylor’s family’s house at Deer Creek has also been a draw for area residents out looking at Christmas lights.

“She just had a huge love for Christmas,” Stowers said.

She said the parade would be held on Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.

“If anyone is interested in participating in the parade, they can contact me to get an entry form,” Stowers said.  “It’s coming up fast.”
