Ada City Council granted a request Monday night to close part of Turner Street, but only if the city engineer signs off on a detailed plan.

The council voted 5-0 to approve Trinity Baptist Church’s request to close Turner Street between 10th Street and the northern boundary of the alley between Main and 10th streets. However, the council said the city engineer must work with church officials to develop a road closure plan.

“I don’t think this has to be a complex plan,” said Councilman Shane Sweeney. “I just think that you have a thought for how it’s going to work, how traffic moves, how pedestrians move.”
