ADA — Ada City Schools has received federal funding that will support classroom teachers with instructional technology. Ada has been awarded an $83,000 Enhancing Education Through Technology Title II, Part D grant for Fiscal Year 2007-008.

Ada’s grant program, Innovation + Technology = Success - ‘ITS’ for Ada, will provide teachers with interactive whiteboard technology and training with the goal of increasing integration of technology into the curriculum and improving instruction, according to Rebecca Hill, Technology Director and grant writer.

“Experience has shown that the interactive whiteboard engages students in learning and gives them an opportunity to participate in their own education,” Hill said. “Ada teachers are focused on the academic needs of students and intend to provide varied educational opportunities using technology that students need in order to succeed.”
