ADA — Alcohol reportedly played a role in a New Year's Day single car accident that sent an Ada man to the hospital.

Billy Hamilton, 50, Ada, was traveling eastbound on State Highway 78, four miles east of Tishomingo, Sunday, in a 1993 Chevrolet, according to the reports of State Trooper James Reinecker.

The report said, shortly before 6 p.m. Hamilton's vehicle ran off of the roadway and struck an embankment. Hamilton was transported by Eagle Med to Mercy Memorial Hospital in Ardmore where he was admitted in serious condition with head and arm injuries.
