Jim Hamby, chairman of the board of Ada Jobs Foundation, announced the organization hired Karl Burkhardt today as its president and CEO. Burkhardt replaces Carlene Hill, who recently resigned to take a position with Interactive Response Technologies (IRT) in Ada.

“Karl brings a wealth of experience to our organization,” Hamby said. We are thrilled to find someone of his caliber living in our community and look forward to his contributions to Ada’s economic development.” Hamby said Burkhardt’s official duties begin July 5.

Burkhardt has served as executive director of the Pauls Valley Chamber of Commerce since March 2005. Prior to that, he was president and CEO of Logansport/Cass County Chamber of Commerce in Logansport, Ind.

Upon graduating from high school in Indiana, Burkhardt joined the U.S. Marine Corps. Later he worked with PLACO, Inc., a family-owned business, before going into full time ministry in 1987, eventually becoming the senior pastor in Logansport.

Burkhardt and his wife Renee’ currently live in Ada with the youngest of seven children.
