ADA—An area man’s $2,000 win at Ada Gaming Center put $200 worth of toys under First American Cash Advance’s Toys for Tots Christmas tree.
Chelsey Bennett, branch sales manager for First American Cash Advance, said Elwin Atkeson had been saying he would donate part of his winnings to Toys for Tots if he won a drawing at Ada Gaming Center.
“He had been telling us for a whole month, ‘If I win that money, I’m going to bring $200 worth of toys,’” she said. “Well, he did and he brought $200 worth of toys. They’re all around our tree.”
A release from First American Cash Advance said the company is the official sponsor of the United States Marine Toys for Tots Foundation for 2010-2011 and has participated in the program for nine consecutive years.
“Reaching out to our local communities has always been very important to us as a company,” said Drew Haney, chief operating officer of First American Cash Advance. “Especially during these economic times in which almost every family has been impacted with job losses or wage decreases; children in our own local neighborhoods might not get gifts this holiday season. That’s why we want to get involved.”
New, unwrapped toys may be donated at First American Cash Advance at 919 Arlington until Dec. 20. Monetary donations may also be made.
