No one was hurt, but a trailer home was destroyed when it caught fire Monday morning in Allen.

The Ada Fire Department was dispatched at 11:05 a.m. to the fire at 406 W. Sixth St. because the Allen Fire Department had no one to respond, assistant fire chief David Painter said Tuesday. The trailer was partially involved when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze by 1:16 p.m. with the help of the Lula Fire Department, which provided water support. The fire department’s report did not indicate whether anyone was home when the fire began and it did not say whether the trailer exploded or burned.

Painter said the trailer and its contents were valued at $15,000, and the damage totaled the same amount.

He said the fire began in the trailer’s laundry area, but the exact cause was unknown.
