Ada City Council is slated to discuss  action on a request for financial assistance for Valley View Regional Hospital at the regularly scheduled meeting at 5:45 p.m. tonight.

At the meeting March 21, council was to discuss the item also, but tabled it because a VVRH representative wasn't there to make a presentation.

City Manager David Hathcoat said the request for financial assistance to cover the costs of the Master Facility plan had to be approved by council. The money to be used is from revenue collected by the one-cent sales tax after VVRH’s bonds were paid off but before the new one-cent sales tax went into effect.

Hathcoat said the revenue collected was slightly more than $800,000. The money must be used for improvements around the hospital, including infrastructure. Council is required to approve each expenditure from that money.

Council will also discuss a request from Ada Jobs Foundation for $225,500 in Proposition 2 funds for the purchase, operations and maintenance of the Remington Building at 1900 A Street in Ada.

Council will meet in council chambers at Ada City Hall. The meeting will also be televised live on CableOne channel 11.
