ADA — The Ada Boys and Girls Club recently received a $5,000 grant from KaBOOM, a non-profit organization that helps communities across the United States to develop playgrounds and sports fields. Home Depot, a national sponsor for the National Boys and Girls Club of America, is collaborating with KaBOOM to provide materials needed for the project. When completed, the soccer field will be regulation-size and meet standards for the U.S. Soccer Association.

Ada Boys and Girls Club will need volunteers Saturday, Feb. 11, to meet the requirements of the KaBOOM grant. Volunteers are requested to go to the club at 915 S. Hickory and help remove debris from the field so grass can be planted. To sign up or for more information, phone (580) 332-3717.

The local Boys and Girls Club hosts spring and fall soccer for children ages 3 and older. Currently, all existing fields are being upgrading, and more fields are being created to accommodate the growing soccer community in the Ada area.
