The death of a 2-year-old Holdenville boy has been ruled a homicide by the state medical examiner’s office.

Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s authorities say Justin Netzel died after he stopped breathing Sunday morning while at the home of his grandparents in Earlsboro.

The medical examiner’s report says the boy died of a stomach injury caused by blunt force trauma.

Sheriff’s investigator Travis Palmer tells The Oklahoman that the boy awoke during the night Saturday throwing up — then complained Sunday morning of being thirsty before he stopped breathing.
