Authorities have identified the pilot of a small airplane that crashed at a northwest Oklahoma City airpark.
State Medical Examiner’s office spokeswoman Cherokee Ballard says 57-year-old Ronald Arthur Merks of San Antonio died in the crash Thursday afternoon at Sundance Airpark.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Roland Herwig has said the pilot was the only occupant of the plane. He says the plane was a 1991 single-engine, fixed-wing Lancair.
FAA records indicate the plane was registered to an individual in Lexington, Ky.
