Ada — Law enforcement officers arrested three people after a high-speed pursuit and manhunt late Thursday morning. A call went out for a robbery in progress at a residence in Shady Oaks Trailer Park on County Road 3530 just west of Ada just after 10:30 a.m. The alleged victim said four suspects fled in a small white car. Pontotoc County sheriff’s deputies located the car near Egypt and U.S. 377 and a pursuit began, deputies said. Law enforcement from several agencies joined the pursuit which continued south on the J.A. Richardson Loop at speed reaching over 100 miles-per-hour. The driver allegedly forced a sheriff’s deputy patrol car off the road after he swerved toward the patrol car and a Chickasaw Lighthorse patrol vehicle, deputies said. The patrol car hit a pole and suffered minor damage to the driver’s side. The deputy was not injured. The suspects then exited the Loop and turned north on Kerr Lab and crashed into a tree after running off the road near the intersection of 30th Kerr Lab. According to deputies, one suspect, 19-year-old Cassandra Michelle Loudermilk, immediately exited the car with her hands up and surrendered. Three other suspects fled. After a short foot pursuit, officers captured one suspect described as a “juvenile white male,” but two other men fled the scene. Law enforcement from several agencies set up a large area perimeter and a manhunt ensued. Sheriff John Christian said one of the men, identified as 36-year-old Deremy Washington of Ada, was arrested after an Ada resident spotted him hiding in the resident’s backyard. Christian said a pistol and drugs were found in the crashed suspect vehicle. Christian said the second suspect who allegedly fled the scene is 24-year-old Charles Leekatera Runnels of Ada. He is asking residents with information on Runnels’ whereabouts can call central dispatch at 332-4466 to report information.
