Ada teams sweep McLoud in 4A District
The Class 4A fifth-ranked Lady Cougars opened the playoffs with a resounding win at home Saturday night inside the Cougar Activity Center. Ada used a pressure defense, 50 percent shooting from 3-point land and a perfect 9-of-9 from the charity stripe in downing McLoud 59-36 to claim the district championship.

Ada wrestlers qualify four for state
Four Ada High School wrestlers — Marwin Dickerson, Royce Garvin, Levi Grimes and Colton Lancaster — have qualified for the Class 4A state tournament, which begins Friday at the State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City.

Cowboys return to ‘Amazing Race’
The Cowboys are back.
Brothers Jet and Cord McCoy of Tupelo return to prime-time television for season 24 of the reality series “The Amazing Race,” which airs at 7 p.m. Sundays on CBS. The All-Star Edition’s premier is this Sunday.
“We continually hear from fans that they want their favorites back, and we listened to them,” host Phil Keoghan said in a recent interview.
The brothers finished second last spring in season 16 of the reality program; they were knocked out of the competition after nine weeks during season 18. During the two spring seasons, the cowboys were recognized as fan favorites, which is why they were invited to be part of the All-Star Edition.
Byng-Atoka split Tuesday
The Byng Pirates overcame an eight-point deficit and registered a 57-54 victory over Atoka on Tuesday night to close out the 2013-14 regular season.
