Tim Green All-sports Golf Classic a success

Ada —

The 7th Annual Tim Green All-Sports Golf Classic was a success for the East Central University Athletics Department.

This year the event was moved to the Brent Bruhel Memorial Golf Course in Purcell, with Patriot Ford as the title sponsor.  The event was successful for the athletic department with over $10,000 raised.

“I want to thank everyone who came out to live our ‘Once a Tiger, Always a Tiger’ motto,” said Director of Athletics Jeff Williams.  “We had a new venue this year and Mike Gowens with the Brent Bruehl Memorial Golf Course did an amazing job hosting our event.  We also were proud to hold the event in the backyard of our title sponsor, Patriot Ford.”

The 20 foursomes had a perfect day for a round of golf and camaraderie with ECU head coaches and athletic staff in attendance.  Attendees also had a chance to learn from ECU alumnus and PGA Champions Tour Profession, Gil Morgan.

Morgan took pictures and added a shot for the scramble while also giving a clinic on the range between the morning and afternoon flights.

The winning group in the top flight was former ECU football coach Hank Walbrick, Blake Drumm, Dee Drumm and Jerry Hildebrand.  The foursome of Jimmy Brownell, Steve Dunlap, ECU alumnus Terry Hill and Mark Keady took second place.

“Thanks again to the players, sponsors and folks in Purcell for having us,” added Williams.
