NOTEWORTHY: The only run of the game occurred in the fourth inning as Asher edged Konawa, 1-0, on Saturday in the New Lima Tournament. Asher hurler Tarin Dubler barely out-dueled Konawa’s Tarah Madron. Dubler allowed just two hits and struck out three in the win and Madron surrendered only three hits and struck out three as well in the loss. Renee Rutherford and Jennifer Tooley each slapped a single for the Lady Tigers’ only hits. Dubler went 2-for-3 from the plate for the Lady Indians.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We made a couple of mistakes defensively in the fourth that cost us a run. Then in the fifth inning, we made a base-running mistake that cost us a run. Those were costly in such a tight game,” — Konawa head coach Doug Isaacs.

NOTEWORTHY: Tarah Madron tossed a three-inning, two-hit shutout and went 3-for-3 from the plate, with a triple, as Konawa rolled by Bowlegs, 15-0, in the New Lima Tournament on Saturday. Madron struck out three batters in the victory. Joining Madron in double-digit hits were: Savanna Hicks (2-for-2 with an RBI double); Shelby Campbell (2-for-2 with one RBI); Domonique Lyon (2-for-2 with a walk); and Danielle Khoury (2-for-3).

NOTEWORTHY: Tarin Dubler went 2-for-3 from the plate with a triple and got the pitching win as Asher topped Konawa 6-4 to win the championship of the New Lima Tournament on Saturday. Dubler allowed seven hits and struck out seven. Konawa hurler Tarah Madron gave up five hits and two walks while striking out two. Madron also went 2-for-4 from the plate with a double.

COACH’S QUOTE: “This was a very good fastpitch softball game in the finals of the New Lima Tournament. We really competed very hard and I’m proud of this team’s effort and heart, playing all-tournament long. We lost a close game to a very good Asher but it obvious we are improving and look forward to a strong run as the playoffs approach,” — Konawa head coach Doug Isaacs.

NOTEWORTHY: Four Lady Panthers had multiple hits as Latta topped Davis, 11-9, to win the championship of the Roff Tournament on Saturday. Mabree Abney went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI to lead the Lady Panthers’ 11-hit attack. Chelsea Alexander went 2-for-2 with three runs scored. Shelbey Parnacher was 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored and Madison Abney went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Latta overcame two deficits in the game. The Lady Panthers took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the first and were down, 7-5, before scoring four times in the fifth.

NOTEWORTHY: Madison Abney went 2-for-3 with a homer, two runs batted in and three runs scored as Latta edged Davis in the first championship contest of the Roff Tournament on Saturday. Also going 2-for-3 for the victorious Lady Panthers was Shelbey Parnacher, who also scored a run. Matison Worcester was credited with the pitching win.

NOTEWORTHY: Maria Priest homered for Latta, but it wasn’t enough as Davis cranked out two home runs – one each from Taylor Martin and Kassidy Webb – in an 8-6 win in the Roff Tournament on Saturday. Priest was 2-for-2 with her homer, double, two RBIs and a run scored in a losing cause. Martin went 2-for-3 with her homer, two RBIs and a run scored for Davis, which broke a 6-all deadlock with a pair of scores in the bottom of the fifth and final inning.

NOTEWORTHY: Tana Davis pitched a six-inning, two-hit shutout as Stonewall eliminated Silo with a 4-0 shutout Saturday in the Roff Tournament. Amity Johnson finished with a double and knocked in two runs for the Lady Longhorns.

NOTEWORTHY: Madison Abney doubled and drove in two runs while Maria Priest got the pitching win as Latta ousted Stonewall from the Roff Tournament, 4-2, on Saturday. Stonewall finished third in the tournament. Abney was 1-for-3 from the plate and scored a run for the Lady Panthers and Chelsea Alexander went 1-for-2 with one RBI and a run scored. Priest surrendered seven hits in getting the win and Tana Davis gave up six hits in suffering the loss. Allie Denson had two hits to pace the SHS offense while Mackenzie Davis added a double.

COACHES QUOTE: “We had another pretty solid week. We’re starting to make more great plays than errors,” — Stonewall head coach Brian Davis.
