NOTEWORTHY: The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to break a 2-all tie and surge to the Tupelo Tournament championship. Joe Nemecek’s RBI single put Byng up, 3-2, in the ninth. After an intentional to Reid Wall, Andre Davis slapped a two-run double to close out the scoring. Reid got the win in relief of starter Shawn Treat. Reid allowed just one earned run, a homer, off one hit with a pair of walks and three strikeouts. Treat worked seven complete innings, giving up one earned run off five hits with one walk and seven strikeouts, despite not getting the decision. Davis went 2-for-5 with the two RBIs, and Gage Wall was 2-for-5 with an RBI single in the eighth. Hunter Capps’ run-scoring single in the seventh led to the first run of the game.

Team Record: Byng 8-0.

NOTEWORTHY: The Dale Pirates produced two big innings, nine runs in the third and six in the seventh, in cruising to a Tuttle Tournament championship Saturday with a 16-4 decision over the Roff Tigers. Chase Byndas went 3-for-5 with a double, two runs batted in and two runs scored for Dale, while teammate Skylar Martin was 2-for-4 with a homer, a double, four RBIs and a pair of runs scored as Dale pounded out 15 hits. Dalton Reed was a perfect 3-for-3 from the plate for Roff, which finished with eight hits. Jace Wilkins got the pitching win for the Pirates with relief help from Byndas. Starter Mike Anderson took the loss for the Tigers, who used four pitchers in the game. Roff committed five errors in the contest, while Dale ended up with two.

Record: Roff is 4-4.

    Gabe Simons jump-started the Ada offense with his three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second before the Cougars pushed across six more runs in the bottom of the fourth, sending Sulphur packing 9-1 Thursday evening at Cougar Field.
