NOTEWORTHY:  Latta pitcher Austin Simpson continued his strong fall, allowing just one run on four hits to help the Class A No. 7 Panthers upset No. 3 Silo Tuesday at Panther Park. Simpson stayed unbeaten at 5-0 on the year. Latta scored four runs in the bottom of the first, added two more in the fifth and then ended the game via the run-rule with four more in the sixth. Latta pounded out 10 hits in the win. Kade Hayes, Parker Henderson, Treston Tully and Tristan Monroe all had two hits (including a double each) apiece for the Panthers. Henderson and Tully both finished with two RBIs. 

Team Record: Latta 13-6.

NOTEWORTHY: Dalton Reed allowed just three hits and struck out four over six innings as Roff (No. 4 in Class A) topped Stuart, 3-0, Tuesday in a seven-inning contest. Reed allowed no walks in raising his season record to 4-2. Cruz Villafranco led the Tiger offense by going 2-for-3 with a run scored. Roff scored two runs in the second and added one more in the fifth while compiling nine hits.

Record: Roff is 15-6

NOTEWORTHY: Caney (No. 10 in Class B) picked up a single run in the ninth to edge Stonewall, 5-4, in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday. Tana Davis was the tough-luck losing pitcher as only two of the five runs she gave up were earned. She walked just three and struck out seven. The Lady Longhorns  (No. 12 in Class A) fell victim to six errors in the game. Justice Dees was the Lady Longhorns’ only multiple-hitter, going 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Mackenzie Davis (1-for-3) and Tana Davis (1-for-4) drove in a run apiece and each scored a run.

NOTEWORTHY: Taylor Barrett went 3-for-4 from the plate, drove home three runs and scored once while Tana Davis had a pair of hits and picked up the pitching win as Stonewall salvaged a doubleheader split with a 7-4 decision in game two. Davis went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer in the first inning and scored twice. She also pitched all seven innings, allowing just three hits, walking one and striking out three. All four Caney runs were unearned.

Team Record: Stonewall 18-10.
