Cougars coach takes no chances

Ada —

At approximately 2:30 p.m. Wednesday the Ada Cougars headed up to the soccer field for practice. At 2:50 they headed back down the hill and to the safety of ‘The Dunham’ the huge indoor practice facility. Lightning had been recorded some 14 miles west and head coach Matt Weber was taking no chances.

Odd days are usually reserved for work by the defense and Wednesday was no different, though it did seem like more than normal work was done on offense.

Quarterbacks three worked right alongside side Weber’s tutelage.

Heir-apparent junior Tryce Prince, 6-0, 185, worked mostly with the first offensive line and surprise QB Cory Kilby 6-7, 185, also a junioor-to-be, handled the second unit. Moving up from the junior high is sophomore Dylan Briggs, 5-9, 127.

Kilby, the basketball ace for the Cougars the past two seasons, will go at QB and make a fine target at wide wreceivers as well.

New faces among the coaches were almost as prevalent new players evolving from AJH.

One coach in particular was good to see on hand. Though Joe Weber is officially calling it at and end to coaching and teaching, he was on hand Wednesday to coach in his last spring camp.
