NOTEWORTHY: Roff coach Blake Crawford again got a nice pitching performance. Kaylee Riley struck out nine and allowed just one hit in five innings of work against the Stratford Lady Bulldogs. Tori Brown led the Roff offense, clubbing a pair of doubles in a 2-for-2 outing. Amy Crawford also had two hits while five other Roff players had at least one hit, including Lauren Trimmer’s triple. The Lady Tigers are ranked No. 9 in Class A.

Team Record: Roff 6-2.

NOTEWORTHY: Host Maud, behind 11 total hits, rallied with four runs in the fifth and three in the sixth to top Tupelo, 11-8. Four Maud players had multiple hits while Tupelo was limited to six total. Kurston Chamberlain drove in two of the Tupelo runs in a 1-for-3 effort from the plate. Paige Vick also went 1-for-3 and knocked in one run. Kristyn Parker hit a triple and scored a pair of runs and Keara Bourland was 1-for-2 and scored twice in a losing effort. Phylisha Chamberlain (3-4) took the pitching loss.

  • Cougs continue to win Ada stretches win streak to seven

    Gabe Simons jump-started the Ada offense with his three-run homer to left field in the bottom of the second before the Cougars pushed across six more runs in the bottom of the fourth, sending Sulphur packing 9-1 Thursday evening at Cougar Field.

    As senior Walker Whitworth was bombing in the final five 3-point shots of his remarkable Ada High career, he was resetting the school’s triples record at 151. Across the way at the A-Town Barber Shop, barber Erick Gray did not even know he owned the record of 146, much less that someone was breaking it.
