MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The East Central University men’s cross country team finished the 2013 season with a 13th-place finish, out of 23 teams, at the NCAA Central Regional at Yankton Trail Park.
The Tigers ran a group of two freshmen, two sophomores and three juniors in the 8K race and earned 310 points. Host Augustana College earned the regional title (37 points), and Harding was the only Great American Conference team to finish above ECU in eighth (234 points).
Junior Will Baldwin paced the Tigers, finishing 37th in a time of 33:02.24. Freshman Richard Mora was the next to finish in 33:10.93 (41st). Junior Ruganza Mugisha was 66th (33:47.67), freshman Bruce Bragg was 75th (33:57.58), junior Enrique Jiminez finished 95th (34:32.88), sophomore Arturo Nava was 100th (34:26.70) and sophomore Zacharie Jeandemange was 118th (34:52.49).
WEATHERFORD — At the annual Great American Conference Soccer Banquet, the East Central University soccer team saw three players earn All-GAC honors. Juniors Katie Glutz and Margaret Glutz were both named to the All-GAC First Team, and senior Ashley Bradford was named to the All-GAC Second Team.
Katie Glutz (MF) finished the regular-season third on the team in goals (3) and added an assist, seven shots on goals and one game-winning goal. The Mansfield, Texas, native earned All-GAC Second Team honors in 2012 and 2011.
Margaret Glutz (D) started in all 16 matches for the Lady Tigers in 2013 and helped pace the ECU defense. This is the third straight season that Margaret Glutz was named to the All-GAC First Team, while also earning 2011 GAC Freshman of the Year honors and 2011 NSCAA All-South Central Region Third Team honors.
Bradford (F) tied for first on the team with five goals while adding an assist for 11 points. The Irving, Texas, native added a team-leading 21 shots on goal. Bradford was named to the All-GAC First Team in 2012 and Second Team in 2011.
