The East Central University football team takes on Northwestern Oklahoma State at Norris Field Saturday, Oct. 19 for a 2 p.m. kickoff on Fall Break after having a bye week.
Saturday you will see a lot of pink around the stadium, as it is the annual Pink Out! game sponsored by ECU’s chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha. Zeta has face painting, pink ribbons and breast cancer awareness information at their table.

The Rangers are 0-6 on the season and like the Tigers have only played teams from the Great American Conference. NWOSU is averaging 10.8 points per game and allowing 43.8. They also have a large disadvantage in yardage, averaging 247.5 yards per game to 461.7 by the opposition.
The Rangers are more of a passing team, with 152.7 yards per game passing and 94.8 yards per game on the rush. Their defense had been even this season when defending against the rush and the pass in yardage, but they have allowed 22 rushing touchdowns to nine in the air.
NWOSU has struggled to get to and score when they reach the red zone this season. They are just 5-of-9 in the red zone (56 percent), while allowing a 26-of-29 (90 percent) mark by their opponents.
The Rangers have used two quarterbacks this season, with Reid Miller taking over most of the snaps in the last three games. Miller is 42-of-96, with two interceptions and three touchdowns. His top receiver is Javari Liggins, with 90 catches for 280 yards and one touchdown. When the ball is left on the ground, the Rangers have four rushers to watch, with three having 10 attempts and one with 16. Mervin Stewart is the team’s leading rusher with 16 attempts for 196 yards and two TD’s. Montrell Logan is the only other player with over 100 rushing yards, with 147 on 10 catches and one TD.
