The Pirates and Lady Pirates swept Konawa Tuesday Night at the Bill Kohler Field House. Byng’s Lady Pirates racked up a comfortable 39-16 lead in the first half and, despite a resurgence by the Lady Tigers, fended off Konawa to capture a 62-42 win.
Meanwhile, the Byng boys kept control of a tight game to cement their lead in the final period and wrap up a 48-39 win. Byng overcame an excellent performance by former-Pirate Trent Davis.
“There was a little added incentive on their end since Trent Davis used to be over here,” said Byng head coach Trent Miller. “He’s a good player and he was a good player for us. I hated to see him leave.”
Miller said he wishes Davis luck and hopes he does well – as long as he’s not playing against the Pirates.
