Lady Cougars finish second

Ada —

Anderson expects his Lady Cougars to improve throughout the rest of the season.

“We played exactly how I expected us to play today — not good,” he said. “With last week’s spring break distraction of work, vacations, travel, weather and other things, it limits time for practice, thus creating high scores. The girls were happy to finish second, but not so happy with the way they played.  But I think even Durant can say the same.”

Sydni Chilcoat led Latta with a round of 106, and Beyla Skelton shot a 109 to pace the Allen Lady Mustangs.

Ada is now off until traveling to a tournament April 3 in Pauls Valley.

“I reminded them again that we are running a marathon and not a sprint,"  Anderson said. "This performance plus all remaining tournaments on our schedule will not change our ultimate goal, and that’s to make it to the state tournament as a team.”
