NOTEWORTHY: Sandra Howshar tossed in 12 points and pulled down eight rebounds while Charlea Leonard had a double-double with 11 points and 10 boards as Allen rolled to a 53-30 victory over visiting Tupelo on Tuesday. Leonard also totaled five steals to help fuel the Lady Mustang defensive effort. Miranda Raney and Alison Sells followed with nine and eight points, respectively. Allen won the game, despite not converting on any 3-point tries. Brittany Sanders and Phylisha Chamberlain paced the Lady Tigers in a losing cause with seven points each. Allen, which led 9-8 after one quarter, went on to a 24-15 halftime advantage and had a 35-19 lead through three quarters.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We were a little sluggish at first. It was rough. But I thought we did some good things defensively,” — Allen head coach Jeremy Strong.

NOTEWORTHY: Breecia Crawford registered a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds as Class A 14th-ranked Roff knocked off visiting Stratford, 56-46, on Tuesday. Lauren Trimmer sank one 3-pointer and finished with 15 points for the victorious Lady Tigers. Jalee Hood and Ashley Cornell chipped in six points each as Cornell also pulled down 11 rebounds. Cheyenne Weast tallied 21 points to pace the Lady Bulldogs and Vanessa Cothren ended up with 12. Stratford held a 15-13 edge after one quarter and cruised to a 29-24 halftime advantage. The Lady Bulldogs were up 37-32, heading into the fourth quarter.
