The Madill Wildcats pulled out a second-half comeback Monday night against the Byng Pirates.
Despite a dominant performance in the first half by sophomore Dineh Bohan and juniors Joe Nemecek and Reid Wall —which gave the Pirates a 35-23 lead at halftime — a lackluster second-half performance coincided with a stifling performance by Madill’s defense to help the Wildcats edge Byng 52-48 Tuesday night inside the Bill Koller Fieldhouse.
“I just told them we needed to contest the three-point shot,” said Madill head coach Aaron George. “A hand in their face worked a whole lot better the second half.”
The Lady Pirates had less trouble than their counterparts and mounted a decisive 73-38 win over the Lady Wildcats.
