Quinton — The 20th-ranked Roff Lady Tigers placed four players in double figures on their way to trouncing Eagletown 67-33 Thursday afternoon in consolation play at the Class A Regional Tournament in Quinton.
Roff improved to 20-7 on the year and will play the loser of a Thursday night game between No. 5 Caddo and Smithville at 6:30 p.m. while Eagletown ends its season at 16-9.
“We played well as a team (Thursday) and are looking forward to (tonight),” said Roff head coach Blake Crawford. The Lady Tigers were sent to the loser’s bracket when Allen rallied from a 28-11 halftime deficit to upset Roff 42-38 in a Class A District title game in Roff
The Lady Tigers raced to big leads of 24-9 and 43-15 and never looked back against Eagletown.
Breecia Crawford led the Roff offensive attack with 21 points and 12 rebounds while Lauren Trimmer hit a pair of 3-pointers and finished with 16. Jalee Hood and Amy Crawford scored a dozen points apiece for Roff.
The Lady Eagles got 11 points from Sierra Kirby and 10 more from Myra McKinney.
In a pair of Class A playoff games in Velma-Alma, the Vanoss Lady Wolves were eliminated from postseason play via a 47-31 decision to Fletcher, while the Vanoss boys later edged Sterling 34-32. The Wolves will play the Hollis-Alex loser tonight at 8 p.m. in Elgin.
No other information from the Vanoss contests or any other early playoff contests involving local teams were available at press time.
