NOTEWORTHY: Stratford shot a poor 25 percent from the floor in dropping a 53-45 decision to Lexington on Tuesday night at East Central University’s Kerr Activities Center. The Bulldogs hit just 17-of-67 shot attempts and attempted only four free throws the entire night. Stratford held a 36-32 advantage, heading into the fourth quarter. But Lexington outscored the Bulldogs, 21-9, in the final period. Brenton Willingham, behind five 3-pointers, led Stratford with 19 points. The next high was Chase Bradstreet with seven points. The Bulldogs’ top scorer on the season, Cade Savage, was limited to two points. Three players reached double figures for the LHS Bulldogs, including Jake Blanchard with 13 to lead the way.

COACH’S QUOTE: “Despite the poor shooting, we still led going into the fourth quarter. But we had some defensive breakdowns and were forced to foul a lot. I thought, at some point, we would start hitting shots, but could never get rolling. When the ball doesn’t go in the hole, it can look ugly,” — Stratford head coach Mark Qualls.

Record: Stratford is 10-4

Up Next: Stratford vs. Vanoss Friday at East Central University’s Kerr Activities Center.
