NOTEWORTHY: Mike Anderson allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out four over three innings and C.J. Johnson collected three hits as Roff ripped Vanoss, 12-0, in a four-inning contest on Monday. Anderson got the pitching win as Andres Torres pitched the fourth in relief. Johnson went 3-for-3 from the plate with a double, four runs batted in and a run scored. The Tigers — ranked No. 4 in Class A — jumped on Vanoss with 10 first-inning runs in cruising to the win.

Record: Roff is 14-6

NOTEWORTHY: Phylisha Chamberlain tossed a three-inning, one hit shutout and Paige Vick collected three hits as Tupelo shut out host Vanoss, 12-0, on Monday. Chamberlain surrendered just one walk and three strikeouts in raising her season record to 7-11. She also went 2-for-2 from the plate with a double, one RBI and three runs scored. Vick went 3-for-3, drove home three runs and scored once. Brittany Sanders was 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored and Keara Bourland was 1-for-2 and scored a run. After a scoreless first inning, the Lady Tigers scored three times in the second inning and picked up nine runs in the third.

Record: Tupelo is 7-11

NOTEWORTHY: The Class 2A No. 4 Lady Panthers took an early 2-0 lead over the top-ranked Lady Pirates in the top of the third. Dale came back and scored four runs in the bottom of the fourth and tacked on single runs in the fifth and sixth to defeat Latta 6-2. Shelbey Parnacher and Chelsea Alexander both were 2-for-3 at the plate and scored the two runs for Latta, while Alexander also doubled in the contest. Dale hurler Erin Harris struck out five and didn’t walk a single Latta batter to earn the win. Jaelin Flewallen and Caitlyn Pitchford each hit doubles for Dale while Reagan Holt added a two-RBI single in Dale’s four-run, fourth-inning surge.

Team Record: Latta 22-5; Dale 24-1.
