NOTEWORTHY: Tommy Peay fired a one-hit shutout and drove in a pair of runs as Allen shut out Tupelo, 3-0, on Tuesday. Peay survived four walks and struck out 10 batters in going the seven-inning distance. He also went 1-for-3 in picking up the two RBIs. Teammate Drew Back was 1-for-2 with one RBI and a run scored. Luke Leland took the loss for the Tigers, despite giving up just five hits in six complete innings of work. Tyler Daffern had Tupelo’s lone hit. All three Mustang runs came in the second inning.

NOTEWORTHY: Rayce Stephens’ sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning lifted Roff (No. 1 in Class A) to a 7-6 come-from-behind win over Dale on Monday. Trailing 6-5, Roff’s Dalton Reed and Andy Antonio drew back-to-back walks. A sacrifice bunt by C.J. Johnson advanced both runners and Cade Carpenter drew a walk to load up the bases. Cruz Villafranco hit a game-tying single to make it 6-6, before Stephens came through with his heroic sacrifice fly to win it. Stephens was only 1-for-1 from the plate in the game, but finished with three runs batted in as he also hit a two-run single in the fourth. Stephens also drew a pair of walks in the game. Reed homered and went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored while Carpenter also was 2–for-3 from the plate. Larsh (3-1) got the pitching win in relief of Johnson as he surrendered just one earned run off two hits with only one walk and five strikeouts in three innings of work. Johnson allowed five earned runs off six hits with a pair of strikeouts and two walks as the starter. Dale (No. 2 in Class 2A) carried a 10-game winning streak into the matchup with Roff.
