Allen teammate Sandra Howshar added eight points for the winners. Crystal Frederick hit a pair of treys and finished with 16 points before fouling out for Vanoss. Taylor Smith and Layne Ramsey followed with seven points apiece in a losing cause. The Lady Mustangs trailed 30-22 entering the fourth quarter before outscoring the Lady Wolves by a 15-7 margin to end regulation. Allen then doubled up Vanoss, 8-4, in OT.

COACH’S QUOTE: “We left 12 points in free throws off the scoreboard. It’s hard to beat anyone when you don’t make free throws. We played good basketball through three quarters and stopped doing the little things down the stretch, which cost us the ball game. Give Allen credit, they made some big shots,” — Vanoss head coach Dillon Snow.

Record: Allen 11-7; Vanoss 7-13.

Up Next: Vanoss at Lexingtom Tuesday. Allen at Wetumka on Tuesday.

COACH’S QUOTE: “Clifton is a good player. We couldn’t stop her. She’s a great athlete. Our girls kept fighting on the road. We were down by two with 12 seconds to go. We fouled, Clifton went to the line and hit her free throws. We’re still trying to get healthy. Leah Parker is playing hurt. Hannah McKinney hasn’t played since getting hurt. Still, I’m proud of our girls,” — Stratford head coach Jason Fulks.

Record: Stratford is 9-7.
