Latta came back in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. Henderson and Ty Hoppe walked, and both runners advanced on a passed ball. Treston Tully then sacrificed to score Henderson. Nick Wilson singled to drive in another run and trim the AHS lead to 5-3. Designated hitter Trent Ellis then singled, and Tristan Monroe reached on an error that pushed across another Latta run.
Ellis then scored on a wild pitch to even the game at 5-5. Austin Simpson followed with an RBI single of his own to put Latta in front 6-5. Kade Hayes singled, but Simpson was thrown out at the plate for the final out of the inning.
Asher tied the game at the top of the fifth. Lee walked and moved to second on a passed ball. Leon singled, and Lee later scored on a wild pitch to knot the score at 6-all.
Asher threatened in the top of the seventh after Lee doubled and advanced to third on a wild pitch with no outs. The Panther defense held strong ,and Lee was left stranded.
Asher outhit Latta 9-7 in the contest. For the game, Johnson went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI. Lee was 2-2, including two doubles with three runs scored and two RBIs.
For Latta, Simpson was 2-4 with an RBI and Hayes was also 2-for-4.
