County kids getting ready for annual livestock show

Ada —

Time to find your cowboy boots and hat and head to the Pontotoc County Agri-Plex.

The Best of the Best Junior Livestock Show will get under way Dec. 14-15 and because of the generosity of Lynn and Kim Hoppe, every participant will finish in the money.

The Hoppes own Hoppe Construction Co. and sponsor the annual event for county livestock show competitors. This year, approximately $27,000 in prize money is ready for them.

Fair Board President Todd Ray said animals must be checked in by 6 p.m. Friday, and a hamburger and hot dog feed — sponsored by Citizens Bank of Ada — and educational clinics for all species of animals to be shown at the livestock show will get under way.
