Local man accused of assaulting pregnant woman

Ada —  

A man accused of assaulting a seven-and-a-half month pregnant woman in the 200 block of East 10th Wednesday afternoon has been arrested.

The suspect, Kenute McAnuff, 34, Ada, had taken off running before Ada Police arrived and was later ordered by Officer Jamie Gastineau out from under a building where he had been hiding a few blocks away. The officer then placed McAnuff under investigative detention while talking to the victim.

 While she was talking, Gastineau  noticed the woman’s nose swelling and a cut on the left side of the bridge of her nose, along with knots on the left and right sidew of her head.
