Pontotoc County man in search of stolen handmade flintlock rifle

Ada —

More than a month ago, someone stole Donald Branum’s handmade flintlock rifle.

Branum thinks an acquaintance who knew where the rifle was stored — behind the gun safe in Branum’s bedroom — stole the firearm. But he’s less interested in finding out who stole the rifle than in getting it back.

The Pontotoc County man said someone broke into his house on County Road 3440 in early October. The burglar pried the screen off Branum’s bedroom window but failed to get into the house through the window.
