Police seek man who invaded home

Randy Mitchell Special Correspondent

Ada —      Ada police are searching for a man who allegedly tried to rob an Ada resident Friday. Police are asking anyone who saw the fleeing suspect to call and report the information. The suspect, described by the victim as a white male, six feet tall with a thin build, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, reportedly ran northwest from the intersection of Sixth and Highland at or just before 3:20 p.m. Friday — the time when the victim called 911 — and crossed Arlington. He was armed with a silver handgun, police said.

The suspect, a stranger to the victim, allegedly went to the front door of a home in the 1000 block of E. Sixth and demanded money from the man who resides in the house. The resident refused and the suspect forced his way into the house, police said. The occupant of the house, whose identity was not released by police, told the robber he did not have any money and a tussle ensued. The suspect then fled just before police arrived.

Police are asking for any residents who may have seen the fleeing suspect to call Ada police at 332-4466 or CrimeStoppers at 33CATCH — 332-2824.
