This year’s race for Ada City Council offers a mix of current council members and newcomers to local government.
In a related matter, veteran council member and former Mayor Dick Scalf did not file for re-election.
“If I was 10 or 15 years younger, I might have sought another term but I found someone better to serve,” Scalf said Saturday. One of the political newcomers is Bryan Morris who is seeking the Ward 1 seat held by Scalf for six years. Morris is Scalf’s son-in-law.
“I think the city is doing well and I’m pleased. We are headed in the right direction,” Scalf said. “We’ve made good progress.”
Scalf said he would continue to serve on the Ada Water Resources Board.
