Refusing to take sobriety test lands man in jail

Ada —  

An Ada man who refused to take any of the tests designed to measure alcohol content in the human blood stream, wound up in Pontotoc County Justice Center, just the same.

Nicholas Young, 24, was arrested Jan. 5 for suspicion of driving under the influence (refusal) by Ada Police Officer Brian Engel.

A female, who was a passenger in the car driven by  Young,  was not charged, even though she took the field test and registered 0.16.  She wasn’t driving and a friend agreed to let her stay at the home where Engel had pulled them over — in the 500 block of South Turner — where the two had gone to visit a friend.
