Ada church works to make life better for kids

Ada —

Ada’s Life Community Church (LCC) congregation provided a financial contribution in December of more than $7,000 for the 2012 Kingdom Kids Christmas Program, organized by Harvest Evangelistic Association, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas.  For more than a decade, this annual program, founded by Greg and Michele McClanahan, has distributed thousands of “KKC backpacks” to children in hundreds of remote locations in Southern Mexico. The 2012 LCC contribution was up significantly from the 2011 contribution of approximately $1,500.  Life Community has provided support for the KKC Program for the past six years.

Annually, volunteers from churches like LCC travel to Chiapas, Mexico, to help assemble and distribute the backpacks to pastors, parents and their children. In 2011 the KKC Program reached approximately 63,000 people in southern Mexico, including more than 14,000 children.  Although totals for the 2012 program are still being tabulated, Greg McClanahan anticipates another record year for the program.

Harvest Evangelistic Association is a Christian outreach organization that provides ministry in Mexico, South America, Africa and the Philippines.

Life Community Church was founded in 2006 by Senior Pastors Mickey and Glenda Keith.  LCC is located at 330 E. 14th Street in Ada and the church supports Bible schools, churches and orphanages in Mexico, the Philippines, Kenya, Haiti, India, the Ivory Coast and Guinea-Bissau.
