Gun and cash stolen from truck Thursday

Ada —

Police are looking for a man who reportedly stole a Remington 1911 pistol and $80 in cash from a man’s truck.

Sean Sullivan said he thinks he knows the man who burglarized his 2008 Dodge Ram between 4 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, though he was unable to provide officers with the evidence.

Sullivan said he let a person borrow his box knife from work. Sullivan told police he then went to sleep and didn’t get up until noon.

When he did, his box knife had been returned to the dining room, along with his truck keys. Sullivan then looked in his truck and saw a pistol case on top of the center console.

Sullivan told officers the case was open and the pistol was gone, along with one ammunition magazine.

In addition, Sullivan said $80 was missing from his wallet, which he had left in the console.

Patrol Officer Richard Hubble told Sullivan the pistol’s serial number would be entered into the National Crime Information Center and a report would be made.
