'Sonny' Warner Memorial Baseball Fund established

Ada — A fund has been established in memory of Lewis Rice “Sonny” Warner, a longtime supporter of youth baseball in the Ada area. Mr. Warner died Oct. 22, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sonny Warner Memorial Baseball Fund at Vision Bank, P.O. Box 1274, Ada, OK 74820.

Chad Lancaster at Vision Bank, coordinator for the Ada Kiwanis and Homer baseball programs, will oversee the memorial account. Also on the committee to monitor the account are Pat Cristelli, Mike O’Brien and Brian Cowart.

Plans are to establish a memorial that will reflect Sonny’s love of baseball, automobiles and country music.

Among his quotes of advise to young baseball players throughout the years as they take the field before a game that is being considered for the memorial includes “Get you a good one.”
