Building begins with delivery of steel beams

Ada —

Approximately 100 tons of steel was delivered Sept. 9-10 to the construction site of New Life Community Church and Memorial Chapel at the corner of Stonecipher Blvd. and Pre-Paid Way in Ada.

More than a dozen fully loaded semi-trailer trucks rolled into Ada during the early morning hours on Monday and Tuesday, delivering structural steel from Alliance Steel of Oklahoma City.  The steel is now unloaded and it’s anticipated that within a few weeks the foundation structure of the new church will “come out of the ground” and a new phase in the building program will begin.

To this point, much of the construction activity has been in the preparation stage, including, site preparation, such as moving more than 32,000 cubic yards of soil and tons of rock and boulders.

The structural steel will be used in the construction of the 20,413 square foot church, the 1,400 square foot memorial chapel and the Chickasaw Pavillion on the 10 acre site over looking Pontotoc County.

Harland and Shirley Stonecipher, both members of Life Community Church, have now donated approximately $5 million toward the construction of the new Life Community Church and Memorial Chapel.

Life Community Church is currently located at 330 East 14th Street in Ada.  The church was founded by Senior Pastor Mickey and Glenda Keith in February 2006.
