Missing girl not seen in Ada; public's help sought

Ada —

Reports that a 16-year-old girl reported missing from her home in Broken Bow two weeks ago had been seen in Ada were discredited Friday by McCurtain County authorities.

A deputy sheriff said officials in McCurtain County did receive a report that the girl had been spotted here and the report was investigated. However, he said, the lead did not pan out.

The McCurtain County Sheriff’s Department, nonetheless, is interested in talking to anyone who can provide information leading to the whereabouts of Cherokee Standon, who was last seen on Wednesday, July 31, at her residence in Broken Bow.
