2 hurt in car wreck

Seminole — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a three-vehicle crash near Seminole Friday.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Daniel Martin said the crash happened on State Highway 9 two miles west of Seminole just after 10 a.m.

Sarah Morgan, 19, Shawnee, was driving a 2005 Ford west on SH 9 when she attempted to pass a 1995 International dump truck, also going west on SH 9. Her vehicle slammed head-on into a 1996 Chevrolet driving west on SH 9.

Morgan’s vehicle was then hit from behind by the dump truck. She was taken by Seminole Fire and Rescue to Seminole Hospital and admitted in serious condition with multiple injuries.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 19-year-old Derek Tannehill, Shawnee, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.

The driver of the dump truck, 65-year-old John Bizal, Seminole, was not injured.
