Ada Air Expo coming in June

Ada —

Vintage airplanes, an outdoor movie and helicopter rides are all part of the mix for this year’s Ada Air Expo and Ray Stout Memorial Warbird Fly-in.

More than a dozen World War II-era planes are expected to arrive June 7 at Ada Municipal Airport for the 10th annual air show, organizers said during a press conference Tuesday at the airport. The star attraction is the Texas Raiders B-17 bomber, one of 11 B-17s that is still flying today.

Texas Raiders will arrive in Ada on June 7 and offer tours and rides to the public that day and again on June 8.

The B-17 bomber will appeal to adults and children alike, said sponsor coordinator Frank Stout.

“The kids have never seen this type of aircraft flying,” he said. “It’s something to behold.”
