Ada Air Expo coming in June

Vintage airplanes, an outdoor movie and helicopter rides are all part of the mix for this year’s Ada Air Expo and Ray Stout Memorial Warbird Fly-in.

More than a dozen World War II-era planes are expected to arrive June 7 at Ada Municipal Airport for the 10th annual air show, organizers said during a press conference Tuesday at the airport. The star attraction is the Texas Raiders B-17 bomber, one of 11 B-17s that is still flying today.

Texas Raiders will arrive in Ada on June 7 and offer tours and rides to the public that day and again on June 8.

The B-17 bomber will appeal to adults and children alike, said sponsor coordinator Frank Stout.

“The kids have never seen this type of aircraft flying,” he said. “It’s something to behold.”
