Holdenville —

A Holdenville man was killed Monday and another arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

Police were called to a home in the 200 block of south Walnut just before 6 a.m. where they discovered the body of 38-year-old Gayland Moore. Holdenville police requested the assistance of Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) agents who, after a short investigation, arrested 53-year-old Franklin Combs who resided in the home.

OSBI Public Information Officer Jessica Brown said Moore did not reside at the house and police have not released a motive. An autopsy will determine cause and manner of death, but it does appear Moore died of a gunshot wound, Brown said.

Combs was booked into the Hughes County jail on a complaint of first-degree manslaughter, according to authorities.
