Ada — Three area school districts got mixed reviews when the Oklahoma State Department of Education released A-F report cards on Wednesday.

The report cards graded individual public schools in each Oklahoma district, then combined those ratings into a single letter grade for the district as a whole. The districts’ overall grades were accidentally posted briefly on the Department of Education’s website, but they were later removed.

The overall grades were not available as of Friday afternoon.

Here’s a look at how schools in Coalgate, Konawa and Stratford fared.

• Coalgate: Emerson Elementary School received a C minus, and Wallace Byrd Middle School earned a C plus. Coalgate High School earned a B.

• Konawa: Konawa Elementary School earned a B. Konawa Middle School had a C minus, and Konawa High School received a C plus.

• Stratford: Stratford Elementary School earned a D plus. Stratford Middle School received a B, and Stratford High School had an A.

The report cards are designed to give students and parents a snapshot of their school’s performance.  The grading system, which is in its second year, has drawn fire from critics who say it does not paint an accurate picture of how schools are doing.
