Well-known and respected retail leader and business development specialist Bruce D. Cowart has been named president of the Landmark Bank of Ada.
Shon Aguero, Landmark Bank state president-Oklahoma, made the announcement, adding that “Bruce is a long time resident who has demonstrated commitment to the community. He will be a real asset to the bank and for those he will serve.”
In 2010, Cowart completed a long and successful career with Walmart that spanned 31 years, where he rose from department manager to store director. During that time, he helped manage and grow Walmart in Sulphur, Holdenville and Edmond, as well as Ada. As director of the Ada Walmart Supercenter, training and mentoring new management was his major responsibility.
Later in 2010, Cowart joined Ada Ford Lincoln Motors as finance manager. In the last three years he has served the dealership as its business development and Lincoln brand manager. Cowart has also played a major role in getting Ada Ford more involved in the community.
"I'm very pleased to have the opportunity to serve the Ada community as the president of Landmark Bank in Ada,” Cowart said. “Landmark has a great team in both our Ada locations and I look forward to working with them. It is clear to me that Landmark is a bank that cares about the communities they serve, and community involvement is extremely important to me."
Bruce and his wife, Linda, office manager at Ada High School, have three grown children — Christopher, now living in Austin, Texas; Colby, who resides in Norman, and Caitlin, a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma.
