Rowdy C. Wright, 19, of Pickett went before District Court Judge Steven Kessinger Wednesday afternoon and was ordered held on a $100,000 bond in the Pontotoc County Justice Center.
As stipulation for his release, even if he is able to post bond, Wright will have to wear a GPS ankle device before he can be released, the judge ordered.
Witnesses outside Outlaw’s Saloon east of Ada have told law enforcement officials Wright twice ran over Josh Stein in the parking lot on the night of Oct. 21 during an argument that had earlier led to both Wright and a friend being escorted out of the bar.
Wright said he felt threatened when Stein allegedly ran up to the driver’s side of his truck while he was backing out of the parking lot.
Wright made arrangements through an unidentified attorney to turn himself in Wednesday, which he did.
