Holcim donates software to Boys & Girls Club of Ada

Ada —

The Holcim (US) Inc. Ada plant, located in Ada, has partnered with The Boys & Girls Club of Ada in an education initiative to improve local math scores.

The Boys & Girls Club of Ada is very eager to jump into the new math program beginning this summer.  The Holcim (US) Ada plant purchased the SoftSeven Math Software for the members of The Boys & Girls Club of Ada to use.

The SoftSeven Math Project began after Dr. Mark McCurry, M.D. wrote two computer programs to help his children learn.  His regimen of using the MathRace Program for ten minutes then using MathQuiz to take a quiz ... everyday ... has hundreds of students excelling. This program has kids playing like it’s an arcade game where beating Einstein is the ultimate goal.  The program will also allow students to compete with other students in other cities and states.

SoftSeven Math Project’s success has become the talk of the education community in Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas and Missouri.  Educators praise the SoftSeven Math Project for increasing state test scores  not only in math  but in measurements (time, fractions and money).  Kids at The Boys & Girls Club of Ada are very enthusiastic to learn their math facts and are very appreciative for what Holcim has done.
