Arson eyed as cause of Thursday blaze

Ada —

For the second time in less than a week Ada Fire Marshal Justin Priest finds himself investigating a fire where all the evidence points to arson.

The latest investigation is over a fire at 1200 S. Mississippi that broke out last Thursday afternoon, sending a giant plume of smoke over the city of Ada.

It follows by just days the fire at 921 W. 23rd that led to the arrest of a 15-year-old boy for suspicion of attempted murder of his father.

The cause of last Thursday’s fire hadn’t been officially determined as of late Monday, but Priest said fire investigators have determined it was deliberately set.
